Not Yeti by Thomas Brown aka Bhomas Trown (Baltimore, Maryland, USA)

Brown - 4.11.2015 - 1

Mail art by IUOMA member Thomas Brown aka Bhomas Trown (Baltimore, Maryland, USA)

April 11, 2015 - The ever-ironic, ever-witty and resourceful Thomas Brown of BalTIMORE (thank you tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE) sent me another relatively minimal, text-centered piece. This one is a gallery invitation but works wonderfully as mail art as well:

I admire the wordplay and, perhaps even more here than in previous work, think of Ben Vautier’s postcards and how effective they are.

Thanks again to Thomas Brown!

Tanks Nancy. It's an idear I had for condensing a larger concept that's out there...the one that says everything is in a constant state of becoming. Becoming what though? That's what everyone is working so hard to make happen/prevent. Then when the other two artists were asking me to join a show and come up with a name, I offered this we turned it into a flier, which coincidentally makes for good mailing.

This is a question that silently persists no matter what else happens. It's wonderful to see it spoken out loud.
