In the last last couple of weeks I sent out quite a few letters with various things inside including a piece of a puzzle. It is a fragment of poster of a painting; all in all there are 16 pieces. I hope all the recipients will post their piece online. The first one to guess the artist/ subject matter of the painting will receive a special price.

Katerina was the first one who received a piece and posted it on her page. You can all post your piece or a link here too. I hope this works and you don't think this is to silly of a game, but the solution is worth keeping an eye out for. Have fun guessing!

Dearest xx, I remember writing a blog about you and now I can't find it anywhere, I must have logged off while it was still uploading, so SORRY SORRY mea culpa!! I feel awful! I promise I wasn't cheating just to win the prize!! Just found this blog minutes ago, so here's my contribution...the two bits at the bottom, as well as the lovely kid again art!! Man, I really have deja vu here, surely I thanked you before? Oh dear, I haven't even had 10 drinks like taidgh does!! (heh heh, sorry Taidghy!) But that's all the rage now anyway, with Drunkpo!! It's just a silly time of year, so forgive my loose brain, dear xx!!!

Anyway, I have no idea what this work is, maybe it wasn't famous in Oz?? xx (they are kisses, not your name!)

Bonjour à tous,

Je viens de recevoir ma partie de puzzle de XX Jones (Merci XX).

Je pense qu'il s'agit du tableau "Le Cri" de Edvard Munch, revisité par la famille Simpsons.

Hi there, here are my two pieces! Kandisky? Early expressionism, agh, some kind of nature morte with a drama?

Katerina, the yellow cow is brilliant. I had never seen Marcs cows - only horses. This one is similar in overall colour composition to the piece we are looking for.

Taidgh, sorry, its not a Chagall either.

Ah, still like the yellow cow by the other Marc:

Well, I did say "Marc" in the beginning...but that was Franz Marc,

though it could be a painting by MARC Chagall? Dean MARKs might know?

Chagall is 20th century, partly European, immigrated to the USA,

and here he "not quite cut off a head". But do the parts fit the whole?

there's no Dean's mellow-yellow :-(

Makes me think of Marc Chagall's paintings for some reason.

Two of the pieces have made it out to California! Here are mine:

Well, you are somewhat on the right track, there is some aspect of early 20th century Expressionism.

I took a quick snap of the puzzle piece. Shown in both portrait and landscape mode.
