Lady spitting blood from unknown USA Mail Artist

Found this beautifully painted card in my letterbox today but have not the slightest idea who sent it to me from the USA. It's a very good piece of mail art in my view. It is entitled Lady spitting blood. Thanks anyway!

You're welcome, KDJ. And yes, I guess it is, Nancy, because I'm drawn (so to speak) to it....Ben Shahn and David Stone Martin also favored the blotted line but I've never come across any references to how they achieved it. Suffice it to say there was a period in the late 50s and early 60s when this look was popular.

Check out Stone Martin's work.

Hey, is that technique for the mentally challenged, because I want to try it.

Dean, don't tell your wife but I traced that image using the Andy Warhol patented Blotted Line Technique which I encourage others to explore....

A OK Mr Bar, but the one from David's head would be better.  Besides he's not using it because I see now that he draws for the left of his brain.  A real Artist.

Well Thank you very much.  When it arrived, I showed it to my wife and she said "Wow, they got talent and can draw".  (She not a great fan of my barcodes.)  I am happy to now put a face to the Lady spitting blood.

PS Today France lost their AAA rating, but I told them where they could find an extra "A".  Thank you again.

I knew the answer and want to spill it, but 11 comments have beaten me to it. Better luck next time.
