Mail art by IUOMA member Richard Canard (Carbondale, Illinois, USA)
January 22, 2017 - The Karnival of Trash has inspired exploration of Trashpo form and dialogs far beyond anything I would have predicted when I began what I considered to be at the time a limited and humble call. Today we have what might be more precisely viewed as an homage (rather than a fake) to Moan Lisa by none other than his eminence Richard Canard. Perhaps you missed Moan Lisa’s most recent entry upon which Richard’s work is based:

Here is a closer look at Richard Canard’s elegant calligraphy:
I believe this is the first art created by Richard Canard that addresses the Moan Lisa phenom, but I might be wrong. Here is the reverse side:
Richard responds to the grease stains on the Moan Lisa work. Actually, I find this visually pleasing. What about you?
Thanks as ever to Richard Canard for this and other pieces that have arrived during the Karnival of Trash.
Comment
The roar of the grease paint or greasepo...
Love the grease drawings!
Also, I have been speaking to DK about the need for new, descriptive Trashpo designations: "dirty" vs. "clean"; "refined" vs. "raw" = we haven't settled on the exact wording.
Richard's work is an example of the situation.
Great response to Richard's completely unoriginal work. The grease drawing reminds me of those cryptic map/puzzles that artist from Finland used to send us. The name escapes me.
Richard, your storage shed - regardless of how cluttered - must have at least contained a few Ray Johnsons. Thanks to Trashpo, I'll be left w/ a pile of greasy pizza boxes.
22.01.17 Dare DeVillo S., ...of course, I am pleased to see that the Moan Lisa Homage arrived okay....but simultaneously somewhat surprised to see that the grease pools continued to spread across the surface of the cardboard rendering my ink outlines inaccurate. I suppose not unlike the melting ice sheets in the arctic circle. Sincelery, Richard Canard
looks like a treasure map!
