Kanji Puffs ga oishi desu ne - from David Stafford (looking suspiciously like the Kanji Fairy)

You might remember Kanji Puffs. One of the girls on Angie's blog had to get several of them excised from her throat I think (the girl's throat, not Angie's). But no worries, it's a minor surgery and absolutely routine. Today we learn a bit more about those wondrous little things filled with wholesome goodness.

The envelope alone made me laugh out loud. And shake my head at at David's genius-ness once again. Prince Ryu looking quite pale and feeling asemic in front of his bowl of puffs, Princess Wakeo making clean breast, those dodgy looking chairs :-))
I could go on with the list but I'll just let you read and enjoy.

And the same goes for the card. The front seems to picture a pack of Kanji Puffs, with what I imagine is a Japanese soccer player advertising the product, saying "Kanji Puffs were delicious" (David, where did you learn Japanese??). And I'm sure David is moonlighting as the Kanji Fairy, there is too much resemblance there.
The back of the card, oh my, I wouldn't know where to start. Please read it, you won't be disappointed. You'll also find out how so many things are unsuspectedly asemic in this world. Well, David, what can I say, your sense of humor is unsurpassed and so are your drawing skills. Thank you!!

lol David. Why don't you give it a shot, since you are worth it?

On 7th or 8th look, Magwood, what's all that red on one eyelid and under the other side of the chin? If it's not lipstick, then neither is the red mouth, because they're all the same. I think she got beat up by her old man but is afraid of missing her soap opera audition tomorrow, so her lips are sealed (sort of).

David's "Breakfast of Champions." I can't believe the level of achievement in this piece. One small step for a man, one giant step for rice krispies. This should be serialized!

Yes, all my drawings are made with lipstick. Expensive? Yes, but I'm worth it...wait a minute...that's the Loreal commercial. Actually, this is a scribble that I drew in my notebook and then added some "integrity of the surface" to with photoshop. Kind of a cheat I guess but when you need that ancient, well weathered, crusty look I fall back on my trusty Mr. Retro Filters. (Highly recommended also are the Permanent Press filters from Mr. Retro.) I did Marie's Kanji Puff at my mom's so no access to toys. In some ways I prefer working that way but man, it's difficult to say no to the toys.

Ohhh. Is my face red. Give me one of those vodka and lime drinks you were talking about, even though it is only 9:45 a.m. here. Still want to know how David did that drawing, if you care to share, David? It is breathtakingly beautiful. It almost made me speechless, too bad it didn't.

Haha Nancy! The drawing is not DONE with lipstick, the woman in it is WEARING lipstick! Maybe my English don't sound too good... I dont know what David drew her with!

Wait, David did that face drawing? (Sorry, getting mixed up trying to catch up.) With lipstick and what else? It's very beautiful! It caused a triple-take.

David, go to Cheryl Penn's earlier blog called Bulk Blog Beauties for Two, it is all about the cailleach.... Celtic mythology, far away from Japanese Kanji Puffs, but i had just been writing on Cheryl's blog when I saw this one about the kanji Puffs and your drawing with the lipstick, so I thought maybe she was a glamorous cailleach???

Lesley, what means "cailleach"?
