Jon Foster, Nadine Wendell-Mojica, Katerina Nikoltsou and Alicia Starr Ryan

Jon Foster's portrait of Uncle Ray Ray is a wonder to behold and stark departure from Jon's tape transfers. Thank you, Jon. I'm honored that you sent this to me.

A combo platter just because they looked good on my scanner together. Nadine has been sending me, along with her biting portraits of American life, strange urban artifacts which are like museum rooms unto themselves. Here is a recent collection. She also sent me these wonderful....

stamps! Thank you, Nadine.

And here is the missing moon from the Katerina Sampler of a previous blog. (I really could use an archivist). Lovely quiet piece, Katerina. Thank you.

Some backstory: A while back Alicia sent me a wonderful coke pen (not what you think, kids) Here's a sample of its magic:

So anyhow, to return the favor some years later I sent her a dill pen.( Not what you think, kids)

The Dill Pen, so called because it made from the seed head of the Dill plant, is one of my less successful attempts at repurposing but I thought if anyone could turn it into high tensile art it would be the aforementioned Alicia Starr Ryan of Iowa fame. This concludes another episode of "The Stories Behind The Art." Cue stirring David Wolper-style musical swell. Next time: Ray Johnson: Did He Exist In Three Dimensions?"
