International Trashpo

Mmm, Mmmmm, Mmm! We’ve been having fun with Lady Ga-Garbajo’s Group of Trashpo enthusiasts. And I have recently received some spectacular examples from abroad (..a WHAT??!!) I mean some friends from international locales:

 

From the Haptic Werewolf, Erni Bär, some vegetarian bratwurst et frites. I love how the card says “UHU,” which I’m sure is text phone lingo for “Yoo-hoo,” which in English is a friendly greeting, or sometimes a chocolaty soda drink.  “Yoo-hoo” right back, Erni! I, too, am an imbiber of the vegetarian foodstuffs sort.  There is in fact a local vegetarian sausage company in the Georgetown district of Seattle that makes some terrific stuff.

 

From Katerina Nicoltsou, an amazing sandpo/trashpo landscape. I wonder if she knows how good this is, but reckon she must if the delight of her recipients is any indication… I look and all I can see is golden sunshine sunsets blazing off the Greek Mediterranean Isles. Someday I’ll see them for real, I hope. ‘Til then, Kat’s correspondence will keep me dreaming.

 

 

And Cathérine Petré never disappoints!  Good gracious! She took a few measly scraps of cardboard nothing that I sent to her and made a museum-worthy masterpiece out of it!!!  Not only trashpo, but a masterwork of textile needlepoint! I can’t imagine how long the spiral design must have taken, or how many needle-pricked fingers that it entailed, but there are no drops of blood on the artpiece, so she must have known what she was doing!!! You likely can’t tell in my picture because it doesn’t zoom close enough, but all the ends of her needlepoint work are neatly tucked-in and tied-off; and the reverse of the design is as beautiful as the frontis-work!  SOOoooo impressive, Miss Petré!! 

 

Cathérine’s envelope was no disappointment either with a gaggle of drawn faces, carved stamp art, and trash collage. I also got treats inside the mailing in the form of self-created stickers that include Cathérine’s drawing, and an additional envelope of trashy bits to inspire more trash poetry! What a well-put-together mailing, and most delightful to open and go through!
