A few words about the Eastern direction. I will introduce you to new messages from the Russian Post: 

December 21, 2020
In connection with the emergence of a new strain of coronavirus in the UK, European countries have temporarily closed land and air borders with this country. Russian post does not have the ability to deliver items to the United Kingdom and Ireland. Acceptance of shipments to the United Kingdom and Ireland is temporarily suspended.

December 18, 2020
Due to the difficult situation at the tel Aviv airport, the delivery time for mail to Israel may be extended.
Due to the limited number of flights to the United States and the transportation capabilities of airlines associated with COVID-19 and the Christmas and new year holidays, the delivery time of mail in the United States may be increased.

I´ve sent a bunch every month since September, If I would guess, 50% didn´t arrive...

It was to the USA, UK, Netherlands and in Germany, it´s a pity..

Ah Yvonne, I've had hardly anything for the last two weeks. Not even junk mail! But, I received mail from Germany yesterday, dated 13th. Fingers crossed it speeds up (And in the UK's case, opens up!) and gets delivered safely. I've noticed that the  last envelopes I've had from North America have all been sliced open! Also, the last one from Spain was opened too!

Mel anie, good point. Its flight to Europe puts it ahead of most other birds. I think. And even most planes at this point.

Nancy Bell Scott, at least my scribbling warbler has flown to Europe. Maybe it is singing - or maybe it is incarcerated in some postal sack somewhere.

Wow, who knew this would affect mail?! Of course the USPS is screwed up too, thanks to Trump's electioneering. However, Kat, your mailart to me from Oct 22(!) arrived last Fri. Long time but it made it and is very nice too, thank you ---

Jennifer, I've despatched USA and UK (yours!) today - and crossing my fingers. I'm holding all the others, very securely in my personal space until things open up.
