Edmund Hippo is happily visiting Greece these days, unaware of the attacks against his person.
He is innocent...he is similar to the Flat Stanley project that sent an image through the mail
to be documented and have an exchange of culture and ideas from around the world.
Flat Stanley was a school project that began in 1995, read here:
www.flatstanley.com
At IUOMA, we have had several similar mail art projects:
-Vizma Bruns in Australia sent out and around a Little Red Bag (there are several blogs here is one):
- Louise Kiner in Canada sent out Zombie Kitty to tour the world and have her travels blogged here at IUOMA at the group:
Zombie Kitty Kawaii! Travels The World!
So, too, will Edmund Hippo travel around the world
...he is a cute innocent fellow and so is the originator of this project in Hamburg.
Thank you, Erni, for this collage card and for Edmund Hippo....
who has his travels documented here at Off Scene Akademie:

Sounds great, Katerina! And I learn from Edmund's travel, too, did not know that Thessaloniki was named after Alexander's sister!
And what a beautiful sea! I guess Edmund did like the salty water (although it might have been a little new to him, people like he are used to rivers and pools, of course..)
Edmund and I went walking around the seafront harbour area of Thessaloniki
and he wanted to know the history of the White Tower and Alexander the Great, too.
We had a nice chat, he is very inquisitive and eager to learn many things.
He discovered that this city is named after Alexander the Great's sister: Thessaloniki.
Their father, Phillip, King of the Macedons, named his new born daughter for his
"Victory over Thessaly" (big battle back in ancient times, around 353 B.C.)
Nike ( Νίκη) = Victory (yes, like the sports shoes, too! It's all GREEK to me :-)
Edmund has his adventures posted at Erni's place:
I love Edmund, too!
How nice to see him in Greece! And sure he loves the collage cards, as they smell after his previous home,. and they prevent him from nostalgia!
Where do you chat about, Katerina and Edmund, when walking through the streets in your sitting, and while sitting on a couch in the park?
And how come Edmund drinks Mint tea!? I thought endive tea would be better for a hippopotamus (which in Dutch we call 'Nijlpaard' = Nile horse!)
