This all arrived in a little chocolate box designed as a fifty euro note. The message is inspiring, and thoughtful. Let me think about it for a second.
Da Da, I think I would take the fifty euros any day over fifty barcodes. Fifty shades of grey might be a bit more difficult to pass by.
Thank you Heleen

On June 26, 1974, at a Marsh supermarket in Troy, Ohio, a single pack of chewing gum became the first retail product sold with the help of a barcode & scanner. We butter celebrate this next year.
Not sure what the Butter flies are doing with the barcodes. Heleen will hopefully give us an insight.
a TREE barcode! and butterflies :-)
...and a few color codes, too! Very valuable indeed!
03.07.16 Dare Dean aka, ...well, I guess that I am so far out of touch & "old school" that I thought fifty black & white barcodes sorta looked like fifty shades of grey..but I also can now see (thanks to Ms. de Vaan) that the industry is beginning to be more inventive & playful with the process....is that butterfly item some sort of bar code ???? Somewhere around here I should have an old copy of my first awareness & reference to the barcode (l976...I remember because that was a bicentennial year)...when & if I can find a copy, I 'll relay a copy along (with still yet another" LOL butter item"). I am a great admirer of the many things you have done with the barcode. Meanwhile, (& I'm so sorry to trouble you ) but could you please send verification of your address my way ?????. Many thanx. Richard C.
