The "Gallery of Colors" art exhibit with mail art archives had its opening reception last night, Nov.18..

at the Cultural Center "Melina Mercouri", the Arts Cafe, in Ilion, Athens, Greece.

It began in Thessaloniki, in May, 2012 and has been traveling to the Greek Island, Chios and Skopelos, etc. The exhibit is now in Athens for a week and will have a showing in Patra, too. Organized by Afroditi Karamanli, member of IUOMA, there was a "mini" meeting of mail artist with Marina Dovrou and Katerina Nikoltsou.

Many mail artists from IUOMA will recognize their art work on display.

Ruud with Erni...(many from the Haptic Werewolf!)

Ryosuke, of course, with many a Brain Cell...and the Haptic Werewolf here, too:

Above: Ahmet Demir from Turkey and art tower from Germany...

Oh, Erni!

that's a good size box! (and here is a good size hat!)

Maybe the little notice from the post office has already arrived in my mailbox in Thess,?

But I am in Athens until Wednesday,

so I'll let you now when I'm back home if Hellas Post is holding it for me

Hope so! xxx

Some of this mail art comes from an exhibit we held in Thessaloniki back in 2009, at the Aristotle University. Some mail art was sent to Afroditi Karamanli then, and again this past Spring, when she had a call for mail art for the "Gallery of Colors" in May. And some of the mail art comes from mail art sent to me, my archives have things from 2008-2012. MANY are large 30x40 collages by the Haptic Werewolf (I really should organize an"Erni Exhiibit" one day :-)

...me thinks i have more than 50-60 collages, Erni!

great exhibit. I really like Michalis Kotsaris' piece. Are all the pieces collected by one person or have the pieces been submitted by various people? It would be a great archive if it was only one person's collection.

Yes, that is one of your larger collages, Erni, right there with "E" and Ruud and Valentine...

all are from the mail art achives...we throw away NOTHING!!! :-)

Nope, Erni, these are all original mail art pieces from some time ago, thus in our mail art "archives". The ones below are your ol' postcard collages, and those are Ryosuke's Brain Cells form 2011...that is your original package envelope in the lower left corner...no copies or print-out-posters here...all originals, displayed on gren or white/cream panels:
