Two more pages from my latest sketchbook. Trivia I've found in other books or just random jottings or collage ideas that seem ideal for a small page.  I have always been envious of those who keep a regular notebook or sketchbook. Something I have tried to do many times over the years and usually they get lost or fall by the wayside.  Through lockdown and covid it has been easier to keep up this kind of work on a daily and consistent basis.  Its a habit I hope to keep up now we are free of the restrictions that Covid forced on us.

Thanks IIya - for those words of wisdom.  Vadim must have had a good memory for trees - they are difficult enough to draw standing in front of one!   I must have a tree in my sketchbooks somewhere . I'll have a look and post it when I find one!  Cheers!

Hi Michael: 

I'll share with you a lesson I learnt in my youth from an artist called Vadim Lugovskoy. He told me:
"Ilya, draw every day the tree you saw today, on this day. Going for a walk? When you come back, make a quick sketch of the tree you saw. Trees are like people, no two trees are the same".

I didn't have the persistence to follow this advice exactly.
