Creative creature cover!

As an application for my creature of the month contest Nancy Bell Scott sent me this wonderful book cover with two truly beautiful beasts. I searched for the  translation for this kind of dog and found "wiener dog" or "sausage dog" - funny. I really love this piece, can't really describe its presence but it is old and wonderful and as a book loving person it's very special to me. Thanks a lot!!!

Nancy, I saw that translation for "Dackel" too but couldn't really believe it so I chose the other two ;-)

Oh Marie, apparently I try not to miss an IUOMA party, but in real life ... the flame flickers and dies at the first puff of wind. Well it doesn't die, but it says "Get me outta here!" Svenja, pardon if you were kidding, but dachshunds here are also known as hotdogs. We eat food-hotdogs at picnics and baseball games and when there's absolutely nothing else in the refrigerator.
