This might be the most trash-tastic, trash-poetic, horrific, scintilating piece of trashpo love ever received from the Trashpo Queen, Diane Keys,... ever. Just sayin'...
First of all, Ms. Keys made sure that this envelope was going to be delivered hell-or-high-water. The front of the envelope had a big BOLD--yet re-used--sticker that stated: "X-Ray Copies; Do NOT Return."
Inside were several thoughtful items, and some DKult member official business:
Diane has been on a wicked membership drive campaign recently. Lately she's taken to posting on community boards and public utility poles, etc. (see here.) I think this message above is in response to my recent Halloween heart-o-meter mailing! I have to comment on that sort of knob-like little blemish in that home-made DKult carved stamp... right there in the hammock of the letter "U"... is that there intentionally? And, it sorta looks a little bit like a miniature skull... or Caspar the Ghost. Subliminal messaging?? Well, I shouldn't be surprised. After Trashpo, Diane's second greatest talent is Marketing. And who doesn't love Caspar the Ghost??!!???!
There were several other great little pieces in this envelope hoard: a Trashpo bookmark (for use in books that one doesn't mind getting pages a little stained); some Halloween-themed art paper; a request for DKult to take out ad space in my mail art (like I said, she's on this campaign drive); and a form to fill out--a DKult Employee Review Form. It must be time for annual performance reviews. I just hate it when the boss makes you fill-out a review for your lateral co-worker peers. It always makes me feel like a rat. Fortunately, the review was for NY-branch employee, DeVillo Sloan, about whom I only have glowing and adulatory things to report. His work this year has been admirable.
Then there was this pièce de résistance:
Ummmm... I would LOVE to help out with this project, but, ummm... I let someone borrow my magic spinning wheel last month, and wouldn't you know, they haven't returned it yet. THANK YOU, for thinking of me, by-the-way, AND for sealing this request in laminate.
But, you know me--a perpetual pleaser. So I'll see what I can do. Let me just get out the ol' knitting needles here...
I might have to throw this set of knitting needles out after I've finished with your skunk fur piece, Diane. But DKult is worth it. I'm sure it'll turn out into something fabulous. I am after all...
