hypnotic piece from Suus in Mokum--such a feast for the eyes
still life remnants from XX JOnes
two digital collages from J. Block
Claudia writes:"What is the moditional style? If you have to ask, then you can never understand it, because it can't be explained. It can only be experienced, felt, emoted...and only by those with an innate sense of modition. Elitist? Yes, but someone has to be left out. If it's you, well, that's just awful"
somehow this just seems very relevant to recent events around here...which have me bummed out
waiting for IOUMA to go back on the upswing
thanks to everyone for the wonderful mail--you make my world a better, more inspired place to be

You are most welcome Claudia. ;-)
I'm wondering if a couch and chair set I saw is Moditional? it is tiger striped. I'm thinking it is both modern and traditional because it is prehistoric like caveman times yet modern because you don't see a lot of animal print furniture unless you think of Elvis' jungle room. But then that makes it retro so it would be retraditional? It is funny how you start out with a mish mash of hand me downs.
Thanks for letting me know it was Jay Block you guys. sometimes it's very hard to read the address on mail art too--and I always have to come here and look it up. I'm sure others have a much better system-like actually writing them all down or storing them in their computer, but I'm just not that organized
Jay, yay! That is it. And why did I not find him before? (Jay is a male name or am I wrong?) I thought is was Julie. Oh dear, confusion reigns. :-) I better go and leave a comment on his page!
Angie, I think using it to smoke something might be beneficial---at least in the short term:)
We are all united by our love of art, so hopefully things can get back to sharing the joy of that. Or am I just too optimistic? Conflict is unavoidable in social groups, and I suppose necessary for growth, but I hate it.
XX=I do not. I was wondering how he/she found me perhaps they are here by a different name? would love to know:)
Hi Diane, very moditional indeed!
Do you know J Block? Because I also got some mail, but she does not seem to be un IUOMA; unless I just dont recognize the name. I sent her something back earlier this week.
Thank you, Diane , for this beautiful blog...it is a joy to see these mail art pieces
and the various expressive techniques and styles. Truly inspirational.
This is an inspired place to be, really.
