Another Mystery Missive + Pretzel Logic by Richard Canard (Carbondale, Illinois, USA)

Mystery mail art

November 11, 2015 - Lately a new fashion has been going around in mail art circles (emphasis on going around in circles). Established artists are abandoning and sometimes denouncing a persona they have cultivated for years. This causes identity confusion.

From my perspective, I am also seeing a sharp rise in cases of mail art received where I cannot identify the sender. I share just such a case today, imploring IUOMAnites to give me a hand in identifying the artist. This piece even has initials. I still can’t put it together. At one time, playing cards were Mink Ranch symbols.

We are also proud to share a piece by Richard Canard. He offers some sage advice, and we appreciate the Trashpo aspect as well:

While the Richard Canard identity is currently stable and widely recognized, I know Richard has gone by other names in the past (Richard C, Richard Craven, etc.).

Many thanks to Richard Canard and today’s mystery mail artist.
