A Blog Post for Brent Leopold. There's a Pig on My Head!

Mail Art Received 10th November 2010.

Brent's work arrived in a flourish - Prem the postman was eager to deliver this one! He always sits on my 'stoep' to drink orange juice because its such a long way up the hill. He's old and the walk exhausts him - but this time he could see what was INSIDE one of my exciting envelopes.

"Whats that on his head?" he asked.

Of course I had to open the envelope and share the pic with Prem - he was tickled pink.

The head came out next - Prem thought it looked like his aunt. Been to Africa lately Brent??

My postman didn't like this one - but I did!

And the next one - I dont know if I'm right in saying this, but, Brent your work seems to have a strong African influence? But maybe its our universal image pool.

Needless to say, Prem got biscuits with his juice when after I received this package. Thanks Brent - great work!

That sounds like a great idea Katerina! Cheryl would you mind if I sent one for him too?

I agree, Prem needs a mail art or two, too! He has to make it up that hill, he gets orange juice, and that beautiful view...but soon in the mail, you'll have to give him a card from me addressed for him. I don't get to see my mailperson, she delivers to my mailbox that is in my son's building. But one of these days, I am going to sit and wait for the guys who do the mail pick-up at the corner mail box, around 2-3p.m. They just have to have grins on their faces when they see 12-15 cards addressed to all spots on the globe!
Have a good mail day, Cheryl, everyday and greetings to Prem!

Where would we be without the post people. Mail Art would fall apart. Good for you Austin - maybe juice is not enough - Prem deserves a card too - thanks for story. I'll warn Prem about Simba.

Thanks - it's nice to see new mail-art by Brent Leopold. Nice touch including Prem the Postman in your blog - these characters are certainly a vital part of what we do. I pick up my mail at the PO. Simba has "issues" with people arriving at the door.

I started noticing that my Postman would give the cards I was sending out a good once over, sometimes even stopping in the yard to have a closer look. I took it upon myself to make a card just for him, that I handed over when he was emptying the mailbox one day. The grin on his face was well worth the time spent making the card.
