A Blog Post for Atte Ourie NO WAY Atte - Come to the Party!!

Mail ARt received 21 November 2010
Dearest Atte, I know we dont know you and all that but PLEEEZE! Come to the party, stop being isolated and alone in Finland - we're not so bad here!!

I've googled. I've asked, etc etc - Roy (RBCz) gave me a clue - could it do?

"I've always simply assumed Atte Ourie is a Finnish name; if you start looking, you'll find 'atte' means 'you' in Finnish while 'ourie' means a 'chill drizzle -- bleak melancholy' in several Northern dialects and
is possibly of Icelandic origin."
Yes but your colors are bright and your tone is light.

Discourse I know - YES!! Lets discourse. Stop being a Norse and come South!

X Marks the spot - what spot, where? Just say WHERE!!!

Whistling Wheedling atributions - Come on Atte - We're fitfully yours - GIVE US A CLUE!!!

Mail Art Received third week October.
I confess I have been holding onto these for quite a bit - quite frankly because I don't really understand them, yet, find viewing them quite compulsive. I have trawled IUOMA for some sort of help - to no avail. I think some of you involved in vispo should come to my rescue?? I am reminded of a few things though:
How our use of the English language has shrunk dramatically - when last did you hear "flagitious", "importunities" and "ceil" used in everyday language?

"Humoring the Mall"

"For Bloated and Credulity"

"Relegated Embargo Ceil Victuals"

When last did you embark on a visual journey to understand language? Try it.

I am not venturing anything further! I don't know if it was happenstance but the three stamps for me speak of seats of power. The power and ability of language to persuade for good. Yet we are diminishing/shortening/flagitious-ing its power.

Hi Cheryl, my guess is "cut-up" - collage writing. But I could be sooo wrong. Great stuff though. I hope I find some in my mailbox too.
