Inspired by Embroidery

Sending out a series of 50 hand embroidered postcards would be overwhelming.   But what happens when you carve rubber stamps inspired by Ukrainian folk art?  This latest mail art series is on its way around the world.…

Missing pieces - Mail Art from Predrag Petrovici

A very rich Mail Art arrives from Predrag Petrovici, from Serbia!

Behind the images the language and the letters are an additional joy for me (I have beautiful memories from Serbia :-) ) Stamps from the Principaat da Dada, ATC-s, rubber stamped card and drawings I like very much!

Like I was provoked to play with them, I made different combinations with…

Rubbery Stampings

This postcard one of a few I have been sent by postart_uk on Instagram for their collaborative project.  I used the delightful stamps that Adam Roussopoulos sent me recently and added the drips and puddles from little hand carved stamps I made.  My rubber stamp carvings have become less nifty as I get older and my eyes are not as sharp and my hand less…

Dream No. 34543

This was like a rummage sale or jumble sale I was attending - no masks or distancing being employed so it may have been in the past ( or the future?)  / anyway?  I was scrabbling around on the floor picking up these un-mounted rubber stamps - someone else had seen them too and had yelled out "Ooh! Rubber stamps!" so I was pretty nifty and picked up a handful which all seemed quite unusual cartoon characters I'd not seen before or nursery rhymes?  All a bit blurry now.  Anyway, I asked how…

Year of the Ox — Year of the Cure! (soon)

It is still a week away but I am ready for the rats to be gone and for the ox to rush in and take charge. To celebrate I am mailing postcards with hand carved rubber stamps — the Ox vs. Covid-19. Happy New Year!

Gnomes got GIFTS from Carina - Immediately Put to Good Use!

I'm skipping to the end of the wonderful fun we had getting mail & Gnome Gifts from Carina in Finland, so this will be a "backwards blog" in that sense.  I'm just eager to show you all the little pillow and reading material she hid away in a wonderful piece of mail art she sent to us. It was immediately put to good use.

Now I'll do a 360 and show you the…

TAM and Ruud Mail

Great stamped envelope and add-and-pass-on-printed-matter from Ruud!

I always wonder how Ruud succeeds in printing his stamps so well: you can see that all stamps are colouring completely!. While mine almost always leave some white (and when I try to solve it by using more  ink, there appear extra spots :-) ) !

Thank you very much, hartelijk dank,…

Arac!!! Where have you been? I missed hearing from you...

So what a joy it was to receive this parcel from her. I like the new Blessed Father rubber stamp she used. AND WILL YOU JUST LOOK AT THOSE WIENERS.

Let me diverge a bit here...

I just LOVE L-O-V-E dachshunds and this is perfect. Here are my two favorite laddies, or at least up until a year ago. The black dachshund, Daisy passed…

Mail Received - Ruud Janssen

I was just having a little internal mail art crisis of faith - thinking about what crazy stuff I got myself into here, sending absolutely ridiculous things through the post. Do you ever get that? And then I found this letter from Ruud in my mailbox, with sheets to send in with samples of rubber stamps for his archive.  I have not sent anything to Ruud yet, waiting for the…
