Petition from Svenja

I like this latest piece from Svenja - a little pattern piece folded with an old slide of  (I think) a Sumerian warrior, inside a wonderful handmade envelope, which says "You need mail Art" - yes I do! All the time! Thankyou Svenja.

Karen Champlin's latest

Two more gorgeous vintage  ATCs from Karen with her unmistakable style, carefully crafted. And another special cardboard work, with I think a piece of Karen's asemic nightie sewn over a bedtime story.... Thanks Karen, I love all 3.

A close up of the nightie....…

Another goodie from Marie Wintzer

I love Marie's work - and was so happy to receive this beauty yesterday. One of her books that reminded me of a bunker when I saw it on another blog, but in real life it is made from wonderful brown Japanese paper and bits and pieces of Russian chemical formulas and Japanese text, with a clear pocket of shredded paper. I couldn't even manage physics and chemistry in English let alone Russian, so Marie either is one CLEVER girl or has ripped up an old lab book again....

The white…

A riot of ORANGE from Judith Heartsong

Beautiful watercolour rendering of oranges from Judith, with a real nostalgic feel, as the text is all about Mama and papa and their children who didn't have much to eat, but when Mama made a cake she stuck a penny flag into it and said "We made it, men, we got to the North Pole". Judith puts oranges in her children's Christmas stockings. Great narrative thanks Judith.…

ATCs from Adamandia

This jampacked envelope arrived from a new ATC friend Adamandia in Chicago... at first I thought it was from Mexico as the envelope is made from a Mexican map. Gee you envelope makers are good, I really don't have time to do that as well as the stuff inside the envelope. I also got L and F stickers and a request to furrow my brow and send it on, that's easy my brow is always furrowed.…

Now For Something Different from Nancy Bell Scott

Another great card from Nance... this one has insect trails wandering over it, or maybe it's a TINY snail trail. Lots of layers going on here....

Can't read what it says on the back - something about art - Tracking? Treading? Whatever, it's cool.…

Powerful ink images from Guido

Wow Guido, these are amazing! A whole booklet of your tribal ink drawings and asemic symbols, I absolutely love them. The starkness of the black on cream board adds to the intensity of the work. I am very very happy to have these! Thankyou.…

Leafiness from Nadine Wendell

Nadine is also printing stuff, lots of leaves in autumn colours. Great prints thankyou Nadine, and i like the happy smiling face on the back - even though you like smiling more than making art, I try to do both together!

Transgressing the Page from Cheryl Penn

Well Cheryl paid no attention to our pleadings and promptly dismembered her Transgressing the Pages book, I received a piece of it today and MAN it's great! Luckily there is a photo of the original book so we can see where it all came from, and an explanatory note, with my comment from the IUOMA site asking how she could bear to break this up! I wonder what it's next form will take, maybe we will have to send it all back to her for rejuvenating some time so that it can reappear as something…

Mini books and a jolly waiter from Samueal Montalvetti

Journey of my Soul from Karin Greenwood

The picture doesn't do this justice - it is black, not grey. Another of Karin's ethereal people in front of a window - she calls it "The journey of my soul through the windows of my life".... Sparkly spirals bring it to life. Great thanks Karin!

I also got a TRASHBOOK from Diane

I bet this trash didn't think it would travel so far. Now I have my own trashbook, I have been seeing everyone else get one and was jealous. Mine even has a Ronald McDonald jigsaw included to do later (wow hope I manage). I think Diane is a compulsive list maker, me too, cant get through the day without a TO DO list (or Yist as my little niece calls it).

A plastic cover for protection ...…

Meeting Teeth in Cheryl's Dreams

After Marie's benign dreamlike images I was awoken smartly with Cheryl's dream image.....I definitely don't want to see these in my nightime meanderings. The wolf, though beautifully painted, is a REAL SCARY image. What's happening Cheryltjie??? Is jy OKAAAAY?????…
