Snow Geese Cards

In April I sent out a series of cards featuring snow geese. Some of the recipients asked how I made them.  Each card in the series is different, but with common elements. The card is Canson-mi-tientes paper which has been enhanced with watercolor crayon and over-written in white colored pencil with text from a poem by Carolyn Forche. The snow geese are hand-drawn, and then painted with acrylic paint. The envelopes feature a collage created with scraps of mulberry and other papers, plus a…

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Eric sent me one of his envelopes that celebrate classic films.

The stamps he used are gorgeous - they are printed using the intaglio technique, so have some raised lines, giving them a great tactile element that you can't appreciate in the…

John Dowd Fan(ny) Club (a Ray Johnson related fan club) at Printed Matter in New York City through May 20

This has been mentioned elsewhere on the IUOMA platform, but I want to make sure members know about the John Dowd Fan Club show. This is classic work from the 70s & 80s with a Ray Johnson connection. The link features some great examples from the show:

Probably some of the members are perplexed by the fan club materials in the m-a network. Ray Johnson started some classic fan…
