I really enjoy the textures of this card with its layers of paint and half torn stickers--and the tiny word "hope" near the bottom....

MAM sends me a quick sketch of her crow--evidently this one and a couple of others follow her around the neighborhood (being bribed with dog biscuits) and fly around her while she walks. It's a good thing there aren't too many doing this! But I love crows and I wish I had "tame ones" to walk with me. Also she sent a sketch of a man relaxing at the beach, which makes me really hope warm weather is really on the way soon. Plus a wonderful artistamped anti-war envelope! Always timely. Thanks!…

Always wonderful to receive mail art from someone new to me! Terry sends 2 original collage/found poems. The colors on the larger (PC size) one are just fantastically dark and magical. I don't yet know what the Italian text says but you bet I'm going to find out. This PC is marvelous to the touch, many layers of paint and glue and paper, rough and smooth. One edge is…

For some reason I can never finish these longish blogs in just one go....also I forgot to mention the tiny itty bitty "Bad Poetry" book made out of artificial sweetener packs! Wow!…

Ermahgad!!!!!! The Gnome warned me about this mailing, and here it is! As always, in an extraordinary envelope, this time a really nice hand-drawn piece (front and back) about the "right of assembly" which has great importance for us "assemblers" of Mail-Art! Notice that the postage on the envelope is ALL about the same subject -- amazing that you would have all these stamps, Gnome, and be able to put your hands on them when you needed them! And your Gnome artistamp at the end of the…

Jorgia loves to do these complicated little packets. This one is a book made out of magazine paper, interesting in and of itself (I keep trying to read the stories). Each page has little packets attached with more stuff, all of which will find its way back into the Mail Art stream as I use it in my own mail art! I love this kind of recycling! Oh, and there's a theme -- the light side and the dark -- you'll see why.…

Debra sends this altered PC all about (to me) privacy, and lack of it -- the paranoia continues on the flip side with an eye, the words "exhibit D" etc. Love it! Strikes home for sure! As the great Satchel Paige said, "Don't look back, they might be gaining on you." …

My Dad used to take me to carnivals--they always frightened me a little bit but his presence beside me was total safety. Here's Kathy's take on the theme! The two-headed skeleton lives on my fridge now!…

This is just simply very lovely. Thanks, Ariel! She also sends it in a washi-intensive envelope, and includes a little bit of the washi for my use later! I can always use washi!…

The self-proclaimed "Old Library Man" sends this really fun envelope, with a design that continues onto the back. Very clever! Thanks, Michael!…

Melissa sent me this poignant picture of an old closed up IGA grocery and the note on the back explains why it's a "favorite place" for her. I didn't think she'd mind if I shared her story.…

Maryann says I was the first person to "reach out" to her on this site, so I am privileged to receive this absolutely gorgeous envelope and contents. I wish we had "feel-o-vision" because this envelope needs to be touched to get its full beauty. It has many layers of paint, paper, and shiny stuff, applied with exquisite care. Even the little black dots have a purpose and are very well done (they continue around the back). Within, a note from Maryann about how she likes to alter papers, and…

I'm too new at this game to be sure about the identities of these makers -- no I.D. except the postmark which was Cedar Rapids. And there is one clear mark from Crackerjack. If anyone can clarify for me I'd appreciate it. I really enjoy these pieces. They are hand painted, stamped, and of course, pasted, on really heavy beautiful paper that looks hand-made. …
