Dia de Muertos Mail Art 2020 at MK Gallery

October 28, 2020 at 12pm to November 7, 2020 at 4pm

Call for Art: The Denison Arts Council and the MK Gallery calls for mail art that incorporates imagery and themes (sugar skulls, skeletons imitating the living, ofrendas, papel picados) associated with Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead). All work should be created on heavy weight postcard, blank paper, or index cards measuring 3”X5” (7.6 cm X 12.7cm) or 4”X 6” (10.16 cm X 15.24 cm). Why I am involved in Mail-Art:: Steve O. Black, now retired professor at Grayson College introduced me to Mail Art. I sent my first postcard to a show at Grayson College. Mail art is now coming to my gallery from a call for art posted here by Steve and on Facebook: Dia de Muertos 2020. We have 62 postcards so far.
