Observations upon the mammals of Alsace (7) - Revolution

J'ai commencé une révolution politique de l'Alsace libre. Je savais qu'ils doivent être libres de Antonism. J'ai été trahi! J'ai été trahi par Marie Antonette.

I need more bandages, Dw. I came to ask for permission to take some more from your stash.

Well, never mind, I'll just steal it.

Then CB is putty in our hands. You need not know history. WE will tell you our version of history, which is of course the OFFICIAL version of history. And this is all you shall need to know of 1789 and the aftermath!

Oh yes I almost forgot Dw's human monkey phase. I think it all started there...

The revolution, yes, we do learn the dates and phrases and how marie Antoinette liked her brioche toasted, but everything is fast forgotten. History has never been my forte. I blame it on the boring teachers. They also vaguely told us about the american revolution but I wasn't listening. I preferred the civil war because I saw Gone With the Wind when I was young and now it will always have that glamorous side. Ridiculous.

Right, you recall Dw once supported himself as professional lab rat, a human monkey of sorts. Oh, and I hear the experiments were done in Korea, a place and time when all these nagging rules about lab ethics did not apply. There's no adventure in being a human test subject any more. I wonder in French schools if you learn all the dates and phases of the Revolution. I think your revolution is better-known here than our own.

I guess CB revealing that she once worked in a monkey lab has locked her forever in that association with the Reign of Terror. But Dw's role in that monkey business is no less of a mystery. And never mentioned!

I do hope so, CB. Perhaps this time it will be more difficult. I've already used up the begging and pleading approach.

And will you ever clear your name of the old Reign of Terror and The Grigster? No matter how you protest, DW holds fast to his old suspicions. What better way to express it than as Marat? Although I am beginning to think DW's view of himself as martyr has become a compulsion. His CB was once a quest to attain something greater and better and Dante was the model, as you will recall. But now she has become something else for him. Did we talk about Sir Gawain and the Green Knight? Maybe it is more along those lines now. And what more of Alsace is there to chronicle in this epic? We have had the Ice Age, the Age of Faith, the invention of surrealism, the French Revolution. It must be leading to something. But what?

Yes - always the monkeys. Perhaps DW-Marat had covered his wall with illustrations of monkeys hoping to discover....

I can't get used to that profile picture :-)

Dw martyred again! :-)) I like how he visits the various chapters of History. And yes I recognized the famous manifesto in his hands and on the wall with the monkeys. And MarAT :-)))

It's a replay of past events set in the era of the French Revolution. Dark wall is saying he started the revolution to free Alsace from Antonism, which is connected to the corrupt aristocracy. His "manifesto" is the old GA-Ray Johnson-Antonism poster. But Dw believes he was betrayed by Marie Antonette who has always had a split allegiance to Antonism and Dw. As in TOXIS Adventure, Fluxus can be a force for good. And thus Dw is martyred in his bath - notice his CB tattoo.
