Definitely the only way to run a talk on mailart is to show the real thing. This is definitely all about feeling and seeing for yourself, and I was so thrilled to see people getting excited about the stuff that I get in my postbox. Already we're seeing postal newbies joining as a result and there is no better feeling than that.

I couldn't believe how much mailart I had accumulated in the 2 years I've been an active mailartist and I've never got it all out in one go before. What a gallery it was though, and it's great to know that everyone on here has one. The rewards of being involved in this movement!

Comment by Mim Golub Scalin on October 13, 2010 at 11:36pm: I gave a talk about Mail Art to the Metropolitan Artists Association last Saturday. There were about 25 or more people there. This is the " SHOW TIME." I don't use slides, I show the real stuff. I bring an assortment of cards from my collection, plus books, and at least two Mail Art calls. See the Good Mail day book and the IUOMA members catalogue? I got rave reviews and a bunch of new members I think. I've suggested that they do their own Mail Art call. We'll see what they come up with.
