Comment withdrawn. I admit I might have been a little harsh, and it's not fair to BF to make him a poster child. He was not involved.

Oh Boy just said all I was trying to say - only he said it better.

Mail Art allows for you to be whoever you want to be.

Ugh. Found it. Yeah, that's an attack.

And who's to say I'm really vizma bruns and you're DeVillo Sloan? Don't worry your pretty little head about it, some people just don't get it. I didn't know that people were being interrogated/challenged. I'm tired of pretty v. ugly art debates, personas, the lot. I don't give a shit. Just f..ing send mail art.

Exactly - and Blessed Father is a mail--art persona, a very cool one.

I just don't get this thing where people are being challenged at IUOMA for whatever work they might be doing with multiple identities, which is a foundation of ma.

Some artists might want a persona to find the freedom to pursue a new avenue of expression, some might be using it as a performance art concept. Why interrogate them? It's about freedom of expression.

I'm with the other fans of this piece - it's fantastic.

And the thing is that it goes back two decades and BF is a longtime networker.

Now I have to tell you - when BF joined IUOMA and posted his work, I said: "Man, this guy has a handle on mail-art instinctively or he has been here before" - the stamps, the persona he has created (why are some people so mystified about mail-art persona (like Moan Lisa, DaDa Lovelace?) some of the greats in ma are invented characters, multiple persona. Like I wrote recently, Blaster Al had 18 different identities for his mail-art.

Well, anyway, thanks for sharing this Oh Boy - it;s great when folks dig into their archives.
