one of my favorite mail art projects to do. You know those annoying junk mail ads you get? they send you a postage paid envie to mail back to them in high hopes you'll fall for their buy our crap gimmick? I send mail art back to them. this one says "I don't have time to read this crap" of course I had the time to make art to send back, but hey, let's start a revolution against this garbage mail blitz and let them fund out art!!!

Diane, you know we're friends. You are of the Nevermind. How about this racoon channeling: "Her name was McGill and she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy." The junkmailart would be appreciated, if you can fit it in.

Hi DV- I must have missed your written apology but I still have no idea what you are apologizing for! I will definately send you some junk mail art.  My schedule is very busy channeling angry roadkill--Ricky Racoon, Skunkie the skunk, Lucy the squirrel. so if I don't hate you and hopefully you don't hate me does that mean we are still friends?

p.s. since you didn't like my peace sign card I will try to work on another one for you when my kids let me back on the computer:)

Elsewhere I provided a written apology. I don't know what more I can do. I will refrain from using words like those. And the writing was so confused - I didn't mean the junk mail-art is twisted. Are you going to send me some junk mail-art? Can you fit it into your schedule? I know the offers are pouring in after the roadkill thing.

hate is a strong word--right up there with twisted

Tell me more about not hating me. I ran over that card I sent you with my car. It has mud on it. Some people would consider that rude. Then you send me a peace sign. Twisted, man. Like what you're doing with the junk mail.

Hi DeVillo, hate your guts? of course not. I got your card today and hope to post a pic of it soon as I have no scanner still. It is hilarious and I thought it was the funniest idea to run over the roadkill with your car. I agree about the junk mail thing. i often send art out anonymously to the postage paid people-sent something last week to Capital One. Maybe people would like a group about fighting back against junk mail or something. I don't even know if the people who receive those mail mailers are robots, but if it's an actual organic human I'm sure getting random art gives them something to think about. If you are serious that you think I hate you, well I don't and I have given up my deleting ways and moved on to other addictions:) your friend -unless it is you who hate me LOL

Diane, I ran into this by accident. I know it's an older piece. But this brings up an important issue. I have been thinking for several months about junk mail and where it fits in with mail-art. I'm sure we are not the only ones. I sense a new movement here. Or the possibility of. Just file it away, OK. PS: I am reasonably sure you hate my guts, like roadkill. But, you know, I'm bigger than that. I can pick myself up and dust myself off. No need to respond. I was just sharing ;) You know this is headed for the delete bin in a hurry - so enjoy.
