Ruined your reputation? With a name like 'tearitup' I don't think that's possible at all!

Beach Boys?! Oh Dear, Modern Maria! My English carols are hundreds of years old, and historic. Which is more than can be said for the Beach Boys! Thanks for the site information. I'll put a recorder together tonight and go back to the sight and play the tunes. Who know what I will discover.....Good Vibrations, perhaps?

Regards, Val

Hi! They were traditional English Carols, 'Away in a Manger', 'While Shepherds watched heir flocks at night', 'Once in Royal david's City', 'All through the nigh', and 'We 3 Kings of Orient are'. All very simple indeed; All played on my daughter's soprano recorder -- the alto pitching is too high. All very English and very seasonal; Regards, Val

Bonjour! Yes, it takes time, but after a few weeks of 20 minutes a day practice you will start to get very good.

i started playing when i was about 10, and that lasted for a year, when i switched to the piano.

Then I re-started again when I was about 40 when my children started to play, and so i joined in to encourage them. hat lasted for about 4 years.

(I took up the guitar a few years later)

I re-started when I was about 55 and moved to France. I played a lot for 4 years, and now only a couple of times a week. I don't get any better any more, but enjoy playing.

the last tunes i played were some traditional english Christmas carols.

Regards, Val

Hi Maria! I've got about 5 alto recorders accumulated over the years -- some Baroque and others Renaissance. I also have a sopranino one (that makes a horrible squeaky sound) and a bass one (that makes a very good sound like a walruss). The cats HATE it when I play my (alto) recorder. They have no taste!
