Well, as long as you are happy being Number One and a Mail Artist, I guess it doesn't matter too much if you ain't rich. Join the club!

Now that I posted the photo I took today while at work at VM World at the TAM General Session I should mention that I have been working as the #1 waiter in the food and beverage division at the Moscone Convention Center in San Franciso since 1981. My trumpet teacher always told me to be a cook or a barber if I was planning on playing the trumpet all my life. I was a cook from the age of 14. But became a waiter around the same time I discovered Mail Art. ( I'm glad I got that off my chest)

$0.62 from art seems a little high. The last real jazz gig I had back in 1990, I had to pay the musicians out of my own pocket.

$2,567.00 from music, and $0.62 from art? Or have you been more succesful as a (Mail) Artist?.

It works out at about $1/week over a 50-year period. You must have been living well in all those years!

I wrote that article for the Sacramento Bee Newspaper here in California in June 1986. I actually got paid something like $23 for it.... Which brings the total amount of money earned from playing gigs and selling albums since 1963 to a whopping $2,567.62  I'm hoping 2014 will prove to be my windfall year.
