A Mashiko Elegy (For The Tohoku Region)

This visual poem is an elegy for the Japanese who died in the earthquake in 2011. Although my work is based on the idea of archelogical relics, the fragments of sculpture are intended to be primarily aesthetic and not reflective of destruction. The photographs of the catastrophe in Ceramics Monthley reminded me of my work and inspired this collecion. It is true that many shards were created in ancient times by earthquake activity.
