Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
SINCE THE FIRST YEARS OF ‘80s I COLLABORATED WITH GIANCARLO DA LIO PROPAGATING THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE MOVEMENT ITINERARI 80 ABOUT THE MEANING AND THE USE OF ALTERNATIVE ART SPACE. IN THIS CONTEXT I ENTERED MAIL ART NETWORK.
IN THE BEGINNING, AS MANY MAILARTIST DO , I TRY TO ANSWER TO MAIL ART PROJECT WORKING ON THEME AND NOTHING ELSE.
I THINK I CAN NAME “ARTIST” ONLY SOMEBODY HAVE IN ARTWORKS THEIR “LINE OR SYMBOL” WHICH IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THEIR IDEA, ON THE CONTRARY THEY ARE “ARTISAN”. IT IS THE SAME WITH MAIL ART. AND SO I TRANSFERRED MY “SYMBOLS” FROM PICTURE TO MAIL ART WORK.
THE PYRAMID IS THE SYMBOL OF THE PAST AND OF ALL THE HISTORY AND THE CULTURE OF MAN, OF ALL THE THINGS WE HAVE KNOWN AND STUDIED. THE PALM ARE FOREVER TREES, BUT ALSO ASSOCIATED TO HAPPY HOLIDAYS IMAGE AND PUBBLICITY PARADISE. THE APPLE, POLYHEDRIC FRUIT, REMEMBERS GOOD AND EVIL, BUT IT IS ALSO THE SYMBOL OF NEW YORK AND OF COURSE OF THE BEATLES: FEELINGS, IMMORTAL MUSIC ASSOCIATED TO THE BEST MOMENTS OF OUR LIVES. THE CD SPREADS AND CONTAINS MUSIC, PICTURES, WORDS, ABOVE OVER IDEAS.

    I am happy that "Homer" arrived in Italy, Tiziana. It is the chapter "H" for the project 26, with the 26 letters of the alphabet. Karen will send you other chapters, but I told her that I would send you the extra "H". When we get ALL 26, it is going to be a wonderful book!
