Would love to send you Mail Art. Go to my IUOMA page, use my postal address to send me mail with your return address on it, or use my e-mail address to send you postal address!
Earthling, this is the last but certainly not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on november 30th I was unable to welcome you on board. At the time I was in a Celestial Journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end if you are still trading mail art. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:
The Celestial Scribe
Terrene Embassy
Republik van Patland
Caixa Postal 24827
Curitiba-PR
80510-970
Brazil
I look forward to see a piece of yours in our terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving your artwork. This is nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.
Ijust received your artwork. There is no sender address to send something back to you. Would you please...... The huge gap San Rafael-Curitiba is fading. I can see a handsome bridge under construction on its place. God save the engineers. It´s time for this scribe to keep a celestial promise made to you few days ago :-))))))))
I started making Mail-Art after taking an online art course through Coursera and studying the works of Ray Johnson, Ryosuke Cohen and The Celestial Scribe who, surprisingly, is always ready wen I am.
To me, the history, rome and function of Mail Art in totalitarian régimes is one of the most interesting aspects of this genre. I haven't come across a good explanation of this so far -- is that particular theme covered by/in Coursera?
There are some interesting Mail Art books out there (and some not-so-good ones).

Welcome to the IUOMA Marya. Because there are more IUOMA members coming from the Coursera courses, I started the group:
http://iuoma-network.ning.com/group/coursera
Still empty, but I hope to have some discussions there too.
Enjoy your stay at the IUOMA platform.

Why are you involved in Mail-Art:
I started making Mail-Art after taking an online art course through Coursera and studying the works of Ray Johnson, Ryosuke Cohen and The Celestial Scribe who, surprisingly, is always ready wen I am.

Why does one need a course in Mail Art?
I would have thought a stamp, a piece of Mail Art to send out and an intended recipient would be enough.
Am i missing out on something more fundamental about Mail Art?
