    Lucky Pierre---

Welcome to this unique community of mail artists. Have fun!

There are some wonderful collages in your photo stream, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I would like to receive mail art from you --and I will send you something in return. I've actually been to mount Pleasant and the Charleston area to visit a friend--a lovely place.

Earthling, this is the last but certainly not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on September 24 I was unable to welcome you on board.  At the time I was in a Celestial Journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end when you decide it’s the right time to start trading snail mail art. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

    The Celestial Scribe

    Terrene Embassy

    Republik van Patland

    Caixa Postal 24827

    Curitiba-PR

    80510-970

    Brazil

I look forward to see a piece of yours in our terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving yours. This is nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.

Sending you some Zambian currency for your collection. Did you ever read " 5 days at Memorial"? I read it and thought of you.

I teach legal ethics - and much of it is situational and context dependent. Of course one can't think of everything in advance but it's good to test yourself by actually thinking through how one will behave in a particular situation. Then when the situation you haven't ever imagined arrives you are less likely just to wing it without thought. It's a fascinating area - I love discussing  bizarre scenarios with my students!

  • jon foster

Oh wow ok, it seems that you've moved around a bit. Although I love Charleston (you're almost there) I'm not the biggest fan of SC. For a while, every time I went there, something horrible would happen. Thankfully that has slowed down a little bit but I still keep up the feud for silly reasons. I'm working on an anti-SC postcard collection right now. That Folly Beach is something, but go a couple hours north (Myrtle) and it all turns horribly wrong. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing with me.

  • jon foster

I didn't realize that Charleston wasn't all that safe. When I first started going there about ten or twelve years ago, there was some sketchy stuff right off of I-17 near King Street, but that old "friend" gentrification seemed to have gotten rid of most of that. I was there last year at about this time and I'm due for my annual visit even though I doubt I'll make it. Trying to figure out the summer plans. Hope you're having a good one. Say hello to that Xio Bao Biscuit place, so good!

  • jon foster

If I make it down I will for sure say hello. I just listened to a podcast where he was interviewed for quite a while, a good interview.

  • Patricio - The Celestial Scribe

  • Mail Art Martha

Your fabulous artist's portfoilio arrived safely, after being repaired by the US postal services. It seems that the little cord broke off and they stuck it down. Unfortunately it broke again! But somehow it arrived in one piece, although open. Soon it will be up on the FDG and in the blog.

I assume that the pictures are your own linocuts/ wood cuts? It is one of those artworks that make me think 'why didn't I think about it first?' A brilliant idea, perhaps you can make a series.

  • Mail Art Martha

I am afraid the button did not make  it but the US post stuck a label to the string to hold it. The string did come undone any way but the portfolio is undamaged. Soon I shall put it on my blog, will let you know. As I said a super idea and great drawings.

10.09.15 Dare Ms. Lucky Pierre, ... yes, I did stumble across your commentary: "I ran into Richard at the beach. He was petrified." ...  okay, very funny...I am reminded of the wit of Ray Johnson & what he would call "Correspondence". I think you are a very fine mail artist despite my persona ending up as the punchline as one of your jokes. Ave uh nez dae. Richard Canard
