Happy B'day Neil ! I hope that you will not find your candles on the turkey... I send you something tuesday but no chance that you get it the big day ;-)
Neil! Low Noise landed in my mailbox today . . . again, a great repurposing of bygone cassette packaging . . . I'm still eating my hat for tossing all my cassettes so many years ago [they could have been so much more]. Cheers my friend . . . k
Thank you Dew Drop!!! I thought of you on the 28th and hopefully you got the telepathic Happy Birthday--me soul brutha from another planet:) let's hope it's better than this one:) LOve ya
Opera bootleg cassettes? Ya, that's a new one on me. I have a friend that would get into that if he knew they existed; but please, don't make me a part of that . . . no more cassettes in the Chambers' abode and I'd prefer to not revert back; eight-tracks jettisoned back in the eighties — however, I do have a few reel-to-reels stashed away; for the life of me, I cannot recall what recordings are on there. They're my recordings, but from very, very long ago [when reel-to-reel recording was state-of-the-art :]
Yah, damn the torpedoes. When have I heard that before? Slightly possibly never but it sounds good, Neil! Combo of asemics and trashpo seems on target, you're reading me. See you soon in the mail some more . . .
Hey Neil, thanks and I wish you the very best 2014 too. Your m.a. from a couple weeks ago arrived and is MUCH appreciated, as always. You'll hear from me again soon, you lucky dog. I'm looking for the right combo of trash+art. Of course, it's everywhere, as you know. XOX
Thanks for letting me know that the "Security Islands" arrived, Neil. They are made with those envelopes from the electric and gas bills hahaha! Much like this one:
You might find the "lime" tea by Lipton's as "Linden" tea. It is made from the dry flowers of the linden tree, my grandmother had one in her backyard and we always had linden tea during the winter in Chicago. and yes, I just loooove "Constant Comment"!
Take care, Neil. Mold is a dangerous problem...get out of there and take care of your health. I hope you are able to find new housing soon. Can we continue to send to your mailing address though? Hope so..'Will send some Greek sunshine to dry up all that mold...ha!
Thank you, Neil, for your kind words! You're the first one who tells me I rock :-) Glad to read that my mail art arrived well!
Concerning scanning: I just posted the Rainbow tree for you here. If you click on 'here' (and eventually on 'view full size') you can download and use the digital one, too, if you wish.
The Blob fish (and it's a Tapir in the newtsuit :-) I created some years ago, you can find it on my blog (there).
Hi Neil...Yes...the trashpo comic p/c was from me....glad it arrived and you got a laugh... Sorry to hear that the mold issue is not resolved....the geese in our pond are pretty amusing right now...boundaries are being established....take care of yourself....
Glad to know the [cigar] box-top made its way to Florida . . . I love a good ready-made. Hope you feeling better. Glad to know you now are wired for transmission and cooking up some peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Watch out for the 'gators . . . or, as I was once told [while in FL], 'don't wander too near bodies of water without your guard up.'
Im looking for a few new people to exchange some mail art with. perhaps for some inspiration or a just because it brings a happy mailbox. if you are interested send me a message . wishing you a happy holiday season!
Unfortunately your mail has not yet arrived. I'm looking forward to it though, thanks! In my experience not much mail goes missing but it can be slow getting here.
Your m.a. did arrive, Neil, mucho gracias--delightful as always--and you sound good! A multiple whammy, in the best of ways. You'll hear from me soon. Happy 2015, are you as grateful to turn the page as I am? Wabi-sabi. xox
What a lovely surprise to hear from you Cousin Chook!! Got your chicky mail yesterday! Nice stuff, many thanks! I've noted your new address, and you'll hear from me soon, mate!!
Photographic portrait by L. Hildesheimer, circa 1894, Vienna. Subject unknown. I really like the outfit, especially the hat. My beard isn't quite that long [for whatever reason, I keep trimming mine]. But my beard is getting just about that shade of gray at this point. I surmise that this is a possible likeness of myself in about 20 years. I have got to find a hat like that.
Hiya Neil - thanks for the comment! Antsy about doxxing myself (yeah, on a Mail Art network too :p ), but my email address is luisdrayton@googlemail.com ... XXX
