Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I like working with my hands and appreciate art in many forms. I'm open to receiving cool correspondence and creations through the post. I was introduced to mail art by my wife. Mail art is therapeutic for me. I'm an engineer and hacker in San Francisco, California. I spent my young summers deconstructing computers, building houses and restoring old cars. I loved woodworking and carpentry and think mail art is like a paper form of those crafts.

My favorite topics/things: hacking, computer security, technology, travel, world affairs, hiking, fish, anything Pisces, Bessarabia, Turkish, cooking, recipes, stamps, washi tape, ink, photography, etc.

Earthling, this may be the last but certainly it´s not the least welcome message to IUOMA you are going to receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. I´d love to be the other end if you wish to trade mail art with a celestial mail artist. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

    The Celestial Scribe

    Terrene Embassy

    Republik van Patland

    Caixa Postal 24827

    Curitiba-PR

    80510-970

    Brazil

I look forward to see a piece of yours in our terrene mailbox. I´ll do my homework after receiving your artwork. This is nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.

Thanks for your friend request!  I am happy to trade with another San Franciscan.  I see you have a note from the Celestial Scribe, who is one of my favorites.  I just received my first mail art from him recently.  I've only been here for 6 months, but have been having lots of fun.  Welcome to IUOMA!  Hope to see you in the mail soon.  Debra

Heya, finally sent out my response piece today, it should be there soon. Sorry it took almost a full month, but I really like it and I hope you do too! :)
  • Aaron M.

I got your piece sent in earlier this week, I've just been pretty busy lately and will be for the next couple of days, (moving, ugh) but once I'm all settled, I'll post up a picture of what you sent in to share it with everyone and all, but for the moment, thanks a bunch!

J.A.D., thanks for the fascinating mail art! The postage stamps that are photocopied on very dark graph paper (maybe that's how that was made, I'm not sure) are especially intriguing. They invite very close looking, which I really like. Nice Trolly Car ticket, as well, with more postage! I'm making note of  your new address.
