It's a great bunch of folks and I hope that you enjoy exchanging Mail Art with us. I'm your Mentor, and if I can help to ease you into IUOMA in any way, then please don't hesitate to ask and I'll try to explain what's going on and how IUOMA works.
If you haven't already done so, I suggest you take a look at the 'New to IOUMA' page (4th from the left at the top of the IUOMA home page) where you'll find a 10-point Introductory Guide that should give you an insight as to what is going on.
Would you like to exchange some Mail Art with me? If so, send me something to 1 Rue de la Vieille Fontaine, F-11130 Sigean, France, and I PROMISE to send you something back -- it will probably not be tactile, but I'll try and make it meaningful!.
Michele, this is the last but certainly not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on June 14 I was unable to welcome you on board. At the time I was in a celestial journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end when you decide it’s the right time to start trading snail mail art. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:
The Celestial Scribe
Terrene Embassy
The Celestial Republik van Patland
Caixa Postal 24827
Curitiba-PR
80510-970
Brazil
II look forward to see a piece of yours in my terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving yours. This is a celestial promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland official envelope provider.
Thank you for the nice welcome Michele. It will be nice to get to know you as well. I am excited to get some mail art to my new friends here. Keep a lookout for something soon.
Many thanks for the great sunflower and cat and old French postcard piece. 'Tis very nice indeed. Sunflowers grow near us -- millions of them all turning their heads to the sun at once. A most pretty sight. I have lots of sunflower paintings that a friend of a friend of Vincent van G gave me -- apparently they are worth billions ...but I'm not sure where I put them.
I'll be mailing you something back soon. Thanks again & regards, Val
That' a nice 'wish list', Michelle. Timing could be a bit difficult as the daffodils are out in April/May, and the sunflowers and lavender at their best in July/August. If you can make a mega European visit , you should add in mimosa near Nice in February, and -- an absolute MUST -- the tulip fields in Holland, also in April/May. (Look up 'Keukenhof' for the latter). Meanwhile, I wander lonely as a cloud...Val
Thank you very much, Michele! It took some time (almost two months...) but finally I posted - in the Orange lovers group and on my animals-blog - your beautiful mail art!
Michele, your super selfportrait looks as if it has come out of a comic strip. Funny that because I am into comics at the moment, among many other things. Love your list of the things you love!
