It's a great bunch of folks and I hope that you enjoy exchanging Mail Art with us. I'm your Mentor, and if I can help to ease you into IUOMA in any way, then please don't hesitate to ask and I'll try to explain what's going on and how IUOMA works.
If you haven't already done so, I suggest you take a look at the 'New to IOUMA' page (4th from the left at the top of the IUOMA home page) where you'll find a 10-point Introductory Guide that should give you an insight as to what is going on.
Would you like to exchange some Mail Art with me? If so, send me something to 1 Rue de la Vieille Fontaine, F-11130 Sigean, France, and I PROMISE to send you something back. See, you've got one Mail Art Pal/Friend already!
Hoping you enjoy your IUOMA days.
Here is a Health & Safety Warning: IUOMA and Mail Art can be seriously addictive.

The artist Jean-Francois Aillet invites you to collect your sample of sand from a moraine, from next to a waterfall or beside a river, along the shore of a lake or a stream, in a desert or on the border of an ocean. One should not, however, send him sand from a construction site. You are asked to document your collection of the material with a photo, taken as you are pouring the sand into a container. For an example, kindly visit his home page at www.aillet.com . English : http://www.aillet.com/traductions/anglais.htm
See you to take part in this international project.

This started out as a mandala drawing on a piece of watercolorpaper. First I sprayed with inks and water and sprinkeled rocksalt on it. Let it dry and then drew the mandala.
When the mandala was finished I used a template (made from an envelope I received) to trace around on to the drawing, cut it out and gleued the edges.
You can certainly open the envelope, there might be a little message under the flap. :-)

I'm pretty sure you just haven't found a good book. My mother can barely see and she reads almost a book a day. What type of books do you enjoy?
