as it happens, i am also a big buddy holly fan. i don't have a shrine, but i do have 2 very good friends who are from ropes, texas, which is near to where buddy grew up. a number of years ago, at my request, they brought me back a photo of buddy's headstone at the local cemetary in lubbock. it is somewhere in my vast paper archives. if i can locate it, i will send it along to you.

    rave on,   stan

Hi Valentine. I don't know if my former message reached you. But here again. I live in the south of Maastricht, at the Belgian border with Vroenhoven in a quarter that's called Daalhof. I know Cadier; lived there myself in the early eighties in the Prinses Beatrixstraat. Keep well

  • Ricardo G. Silveira

Thank you very much for your comment. Is required is creativity and the right software.

    Greetings from Venezuela

  • joachim

In 1983 I already lived in Venray (also Limburg), before I moved in 1986 to Amsterdam. Before Cadier I lived in the States btw; first in San Marcos Ca., and after in SD. I came back to the Netherlands in 1981

  • Ricardo G. Silveira

No, in a day you can make a digital work.

Val--Just want to let you know that I've been enjoying your "My life would have been different " vinyl record series. It's a great showcase for your inimitable humor.

Val, I received the rituals of repetitions. I am unsure of what to do… Normally I document everything in lots of places. You have said, NO BLOGGING so does that mean you don't want me to document your work on the Ritual mail art blog? Does blogging mean talking about it or putting it somewhere?

Hi Val, your mobile arrived yesterday, übercool. Thank you. I am trying to think of a place to hang it, but am in desperate straights for a safe zone. In these chambers, cats rule the domain and anything with feathers just might seem fair game. I will not let it be so.

    See you in the mail.

  • Keith S. Chambers

I love the name, Trouble. My three are all so sweetly troublesome. I no longer have plants or flowers in the house, am constantly picking up items that have mysteriously fallen on the floor and cannot leave any loose string or thread around — I once found my youngest with a thread hanging out of her mouth, having a bit of a gagging fit; I slowly pulled the thread out of her mouth/throat to find a sewing needle on the other end.

Again, I will need to put some thought towards where to hang your mobile . . . away from high flying, feather-shredding kats. :]

Hello Valentine, this is my second mail art project. In the first one, Voice to people, you were the first one to send your work, i was very happy! With all the works i received i was able to organized 3 exposition, 2 in Trento and 1 in Vicenza. you can see the events in my fb page. But as you may understand, it's not so easy  to find a free place for  art expositions, i have contact with Sat, Società Alpina Trento, i am sure that during 2015 i will be able to show all the works, but i need to received a good number of mail, good enough for showing! So far i have already received a good number, but there is time up to next march, so please help me to make a good job! I think that around february i will know when and where! Ciao ciao...

  • renata di palma

Ciao Valentine , thank you for your reply, i appreciated very much! Ok for farcebook, i know what you mean, but i share my stuff just with selected friends and it's not so bad. Anyway, i am so busy and involved in my real job, primary school teacher, that i have no time for other useless occupations, except mail art!

Temporarily is it online. It depends on the amount of incoming mails. If there enough for an exhibition, I plan to organize one.

  • Michele K. Henderson

Thanks, Val! I have always wanted to travel to France and see the sunflowers and the rows of lavender, and then to England to see the daffodils! Once the Christmas rush settles down a bit, I'm hoping to get more and more mail art to my friends here at IOUMA!

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Put on your happy-hat :-)

Edmund is  ready!(oops..off-center, 'must rearrange it)

    Keep smilin'

Hi Val, I'm planning several exhibitions in the Netherlands in 2015/2016. I'll let you know! And the Zwarte Piet discussion is very difficult. I understand the commotion, our history of slavery...so I think Zwarte Piet will change, but it can't be achieved overnight. And why is there so much hate, it's a feast for children!

By the way: you are a beautiful Santa Claus ;-)

I would love to adopt a punnikin for 2015. I believe in adoption for homeless pets, rather than purchase or breeding.  --Linda

I sent you a Christmas card and some mail art yesterday (December 9).  I apologize for not mailing this sooner, but have had a lot on my mind lately. As you know, in June, I lost my Father, who was 80 years of age after a neurological illness. On December 1, I lost my Brother-in-law to a rare form of cancer. In a way, my Brother-in-law's death was worse than my Father's. My Father had been sick for a long time, and was in terrible condition, both physically and mentally. My Brother-in-law was only 48, and had a wife and children.

My family and I were in California (where most of my husband's relatives live) over the weekend.  The funeral for my Brother-in-law was on Sunday morning, held on a beach that he loved.  It was very different than any memorial service I've ever been to.  It was very informal, nearly everyone there wore jeans and tennis shoes.  They didn't even call it a funeral - it was referred to as a "Life Celebration".

I am glad that 2014 is nearly over. I'm sick of going to funerals.  Hopefully, 2015 will be a better one for all of us!

  • Petrolpetal

I have 4 vinyls packed and ready to send - hope they reach you safely!

  • Petrolpetal

You'll see that on the one vinyl (you'll know which one when it arrives) I adopted a conservative approach and did not include condoms, cannabis or cocaine - for obvious reasons! Nor did I include carrots, cards, crisps, crayons, crap, courgettes,or vitamin C. Cryptic, not so??

  • Cernjul Viviana María

  • I found your perfect destination Val! Internet is frustratingly slow where I am.. back to mail art business in the new year. Hope you had a lovely Christmas. x
