#(My house is about 150 yards from the shop -- no doubt you'll find a photo of that too. Now there's a challenge for you!)

  • Petrolpetal

Oh my word! Your house looks amazing! built 1645! WOW!The streets are awful narrow though! Not good for a claustrophobe. And the halcats on the card. A love of mine. I sailed halcats for a long time, then moved on to windsurfing. Now I'm teaching my kids to windsurf. fun. But the sport has died here. I live near a beautiful dam and when I was growing up the dam was FULL of halcats, hobicats and windsurfers (etc). Now - not so many and you cant get spare parts. an ad hoc solution to broken parts can always be made though... My dad named out halcat "Catharsis" . I love that name.Anyway - thanks for the 2 pieces of mail I received from you!

  • Petrolpetal

Oh yes - you tulip print is stunning - I am going to put it in a little frame. Will post a pic. Thanks!

Got your most recent card, thanks. The French Fluxus team looks pretty cool.

  • Carmela Rizzuto

VMH--those vinyl art pieces that have been gracing iuoma's pages are wonderful--a fun object for artistic exploration!

  • Good (early) morning Val! I was trying to find a clip I'd seen but found this instead - You may have to just go on tour and educate the kids out there, before long they won't even be able to write! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdSHeKfZG7c

    HI Valentine,

The Coursera class included mail art as a type of art expression, not a "how to" course in making mail art, though I did just read a book on this topic and found it interesting.  I think it's great for an art history class taught by a prestigious university to talk about mail art.

    :-)

  • Rochleigh Z. Wholfe

Thanks Val for birthday greeting!! I celebrate my birthday for a month. Going out with friends for dinner this evening. Glad all your shows have gone well! Take care my friend!!!

Val, I am glad you recieved the card.  I'm looking forward to seeing your invitation to the past. What should I wear to the exibit- my acid washed jeans from the 80's?  Should I take the time machine or the station wagon (same thing)?  More mail soon.

  • Maria José Silva - Mizé

    Bom dia Valentine.

Qual o prazo para entrega dos trabalhos de Arte Vinyl, para 2015?

Obrigada e bom fim de semana.

    Saudações,

    Mizé

"Twinchies" just means "two inch art" 2x2 square. "Inchies" are 1x1 (one inch square) and are artist trading card miniatures. ☺ Not quite 35 mm slide but I see the similarity.

03.09.14 Dare Valentine Mark H.,...&" my life would be different " if I didn't attempt to keep up with all  the commentary, art , & antics of Valentine Mark Herman et al at the iuoma....but probably not any better. All best to you & your continuous efforts to amuse us all. Richard C.

Val, Thanks for the great postcard.  I missed the show, but I got a souvenir.  More mail soon.

  • Heleen de Vaan

    Thank you for your comment!

Send my sheep to Sigean... er... First I'll have to wait for the reply of the Sheep-mail-art-project organizer.

And furthermore: first you'll have to look forward to the punniked Foot in your mailbox!(no food neither a zweetvoet, but a real spoolknit foot :-)

I finally put it in the mailbox last Monday so it is on its way to you...

By the way, did you receive my envelope (with a newspaper article, no money) addressed to an addressless you in Sigean?

  • Junanne Peck

Thank you Val and you are welcome to post the Vinyl….thanks for the opportunity to share…..

Val, loved the cards and the fingerweaving (my guess anyhow).  Thanks for the kind words too.  I have a card I found at the coast that I am sending you.  Can't wait for you to see it. Lots of creativity going on here.

The joy and tragedy of gravity: Basset Hounds Running

  • Heleen de Vaan

Did you really say 'baaaah'? Concerning the sheep, I'm waiting for Ivana's reply, so I might send it to Croatia as I planned. But I guess you need the wool to punnik, so I created this Alpaca for you. Hope you'll like it!

Not inspired by Paul Klee, Josef Albers and quilts this time, but - because you have something to do with Dutch - by our famous "De Stijl" painter Piet Mondriaan.

Although I've never seen Mondriaan using round objects (animals/alpaca's) in his "De Stijl  works. Before that period he did, and for his variety of styles I think him a great painter.

  • 𝕊𝕙𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕚𝕖 𝕃𝕖𝕨𝕚𝕤

The magnificent, graceful...no, wait... oh, holy crap, a Basset Hound running is just hilarious.
