Yes, i have a "thing" for libraries! My Partner and i go "library-Hopping" to check out different libraries in CT. I am an inter-library loan Junkie also, 2nd would be the postal service! I'm also a Radio Geek!
Nancy, I'm glad you received and like your Elgin Shroud shred. I would be flattered if you blogged it. The Elgin Shroud is for the world. And D-Kollectibles is still taking orders.
Nancy, wow! I'm on my way to a weekend trip, but I just wanted to let you know that I stood before the mailbox and whispered (like a children) "wooooooow" - I love this book cover, I lovelovelove it!! Many thanks, many thanks, many thanks! ;-))
It's one of the parts of mail art I really love, that things who are falling apart and are worthless to most people are turned into something truly beautiful and highly valued by someone and sometimes by many people. Like Rays sunglasses I sent to DK, the buttons were in a box for years and years, it was either throwing them away or sending them away... who would have thought how much fun we would have with them?
Great you like it! where the weather book comes from? Secret of course if not I would have to pull legs. The real mailart is something where I find time to do in these busy days but I´m not so often online and too lazy to intall my camera new and blog all the great mails I get. but in December the worst will be over I hope Greatings Frieder
Love your old book covers - they are nostalgic and great. I love the smell they have too! What a great treat to receive in the mail before the Thanksgiving holiday. I loved it, thank you. Can't wait to send you something in the mail soon. Stay in touch! xo
Hi Nancy, glad you liked the thankful Botticelli, you've really inspired (infected?) me with this book cover idea, sent out two of them yesterday, (books in danger here!).
I found these huge stamps on a flea market last week with "DM" (Deutsche Mark) and "Pfg" (Pfennig) - no longer needed because of the Euros and Cent in use now. Sooo, it's a really straightforward day today, isn't it??
I have to admit that I still don't really understand how the pages will be exhibited in this drawer Judith wrote about... Maybe they are only horizontally photographed?? Anyway, your pages are much admired!!
;-D Thank you Nancy. What? Already one my way...wow...that's too cool! You're so fast and sooo welcome, LOL! My pleasure Dear, CIAO! See ya soon GOTIJ Girl ; )
wow, that was quick since it was posted only Monday of this week. Happy you like it Nancy. was the duchamp piece in there as well? if not, will work up another one for you. xo
YIKES! What an envelope. First, I must tell you the post card with Snow White just might be my favoite card in the entire world. It's so twisted. I love it dearly. The felt squares I do remember particularly watching Romper Room I think. The Catholic Messenger poem is actually very sweet. Too bad your postman is without humor. I wonder what he makes of your mail. You must know him where as it's pretty anonomous here. You're the bestest mail art gal!
Nancy, oh, it's late in the evening, back home after a long work day, - found your wonderful card, it is so "zauberhaft", "wunderschön", beautiful. Thank you very very much my friend!
I must tell you that both my husband and I have been looking at the pickaninny card with a magnifying glass. We've discovered that one of the young boy's sweet little parts of his body is showing. Another kid has a lettace leaf covering his of course. We think she must be a 'M.K' as in Missionary's kid. Once my husband watched a soccer game between M.K's and P.K's. It was brutal. The P.K's were poor sports- HAH! By the way, Pickaninny comes from Spanish and Portuguese for paqueno and nene'. Small child. We had to look it up in the BIG Oxford dictionary. My husband is Puerto Rican with African so we were so hysterical about this gem. He accused me of never being generous enough to gift it to you and I think he's right.
Nancy! I got more mail from you, yey!! A great transparent envelope. It looks absolutely fab as it is, but I wanted to ask if it was "openable". I wouldn't want to ruin it but still feel like opening :-)) In any case, thank you, I'm so very lucky!
The envelope unveiled its treasures, Nancy. Wow, how wonderful, I love all of it, and your note is so heartwarming, I don't even know how to thank you.... but I'm so happy, and enchanted... :-)
Glad the starry greetings arrived, had I known earlier, I would have put a greeting on the envelope for your postman! Well, those two cards were "experimental", so let's see how I shall continue ;-) 'Love the papers, thanks soooo much xx
