Memories Made of This exhibition in Hadleigh Library Day 1/2 today.

A mother and her two children came into the library at 4pm, I approached them, saying that I didn't know if they had time but that I had a mail art exhibit and a 'making table'. MAIL ART she said, 'I'd be very interested to see that… mu dad was a correspondence artist.' Her dad is Michael Lumb! Bizarre coincidence in a rural Suffolk village!

I have four windows at the library and an alcove just for Simon Warren - he sent me more than 135 pieces!

  • Claire (aka Cleo)

    Wow, looks great Rebecca! :)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Congrats, Rebecca! That is a fantastic exhibit in-the-windows!

How about a hot choco today in the Cafe:

I'll have a hot choco thanks...(in a BLUE cup, sure!)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Anyone want some PUDDING?

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Make that CHOCOLATE pudding, please!

  • Heleen de Vaan

    Thank you, enjoy your dessert!
I would love to (chocolate pudding, and coffee, with milkm no sugar please), but alas no, I first have to eat my pumpkin/red-lentils soup (orange!). And here you see a picture.... I was too long at the computer (IUOMA) now, and the soup first was watery, but now it has been cooking dry!...

  • Zois

Thanks for waiting for me.  So good to come in here to warm up.

blue linen for Katerina, tea for all. Heleen, milk for your tea is just to the right where you can't see it .

  • Heleen de Vaan

Thank you, Elizabeth, too! Tea with a 'wolkje melk' (- 'a little cloud of  milk') is delicious, too!

  • Zois

Heleen, as in the foam on espresso?

  • Heleen de Vaan

No, a real 'cloud'  inside of the tea! :-)
See for instance here (but after stirring, the milk and tea mix so the cloud dissolves).
    Enjoy your cup of tea!

  • Zois

Oh, yes, the cloud!  It is a real cloud!  thanks.

  • Rod Summers / VEC

Anyone fancy a slice of my new bread with butter and strawberry jam?

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    That looks yummy, Rod!

I'll take a piece and have a nice soothing cup of Tilio (Linden) tea

to calm me before going to sleep (after midnight here in Greece now :-)

  • Rod Summers / VEC

It's indeed yummy, just had a slice.  Is Greece in a different time zone!!??? it's still 20 minutes before the midnight hour here in mild Maastricht.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Hello Rod :-)

Greece is way ahead of ya in time, dear buddy!

Yes, we are one hour ahead, it is 20 minutes to one-in-the-morning.

  • Dan Mouer

You are breaking my heart, Rod. I bake bread at least once every week, often more. Last week my 12-year-old high-quality oven burned up it's main circuit board, and the repair folks say there no longer are replacements. My oven is deaf. So I picked up a large, inexpensive counter-top convection oven--essentially a toaster on steroids--to bake with until I can rearrange my kitchen and replace my range. I serusly doubt my bread will be up to the quality what I have gotten used to, so please send a fresh loaf to me once in a while as mail art, just to keep my spirits up.
  • Rod Summers / VEC

Sorry to rub salt into a wound already stinging Dan but the goat's cheese sandwich I made this morning was so delicious I found myself forced to repeat the edible action:-)  But baker me sends sincere sympathy that your are reduced to a c-t-c-o.  Would that I could send you a loaf... I could send you the recipe for when you are restored to full bakability proper, I could post that here, but you'd have to keep it a secret for, should the mail-art world start baking 'the bread of Rod' a multitude of bakers would go out of business and I'm not sure my conscience could bear that:~).... Dan!

    Happy St. Valentine's Day, IUOMA!

  • Zois

Dan, your heart of rose is beautiful and uplifting, thanks for that.

Here, the extra cold, many days and nights below 0°F - 17°C, suggested a hearty carrot & other vegetable filled meatloaf, yes, with the egg.  Come on in.  Today is "warmer" for walking over here, low 30°'s/1°'s.

In the east side and middle of New York State, our  usual for March high temperatures is 25°/-4° - 45°/7°.
