The photo was made by me. The composition of the union, garlic and fork was done by Litsa Spathi. Actually lateron used for preparing a wonderfull meal.
Again thank you, Eva, for that Onion!!! (and of course Danke schön, Richard, for sending that Onion to Eva!).
Guess what - when I think of Eva, I think of cheese. And did you know what was our easy dinner tonight? Slices of bread together with slices of cheese (er, no cow cheese) and pieces of watermelon and slices of... Onion! Especially the fine taste of Onion 'did it'. Yummy!
However I'm in doubt about the '3000th' member... Shouldn't we subtract the double and triple registered members (e.g. Ruud / RJ, John D / John D / John Dee, and who knows how many more?)?
Hi! Carina sent me some mail and told me I had to join Onions, so here I am. I'm not sure what happens here, but I very slowly fried lots of onions in a pan of chicken and bacon fat, and it is the most beauuuuuuutiful thing to have in the fridge to add to meals. Some of my friends, who are Hare Krishnas, aren't allowed to eat onions or garlic. In Latvian onions are called sipoli.
Welcome Vizma, so glad to see you here! Hi Kat! Latvian onions are very close to the Finnish: sipuli! In Swedish: lök. The Onion Painting is about learning to trust the process, stick with the process? Don't know if it helped, later I throwed the painted onion into the woods :)
And Carina, that's so weird, loki in Latvian means chives, or the green shoots that grow out of the onion! We may be able to understand each other in our native tongues!!

'UIEN', means ONIONS in Dutch (singular, lower-case: ui). Not to be confused with 'UILEN' (singular, lower-case: uil), which means OWLS in Dutch.

(as stated earlier here...maybe a few years ago?)
