Hello everyone! it's been a long 10 years that I haven't been around. Life just happens. Fast-forwarding to present times, I have the opportunity to participate with a score in Documenta 15. I'm part of one of the collectives that were invited (Alice Yard- Trinidad & Tobago).

My score, 5:38, I want to open it to the public.

The plan is to project the digital submissions to the public, starting in Trinidad and ultimately in Kassel, Germany.

The plan is to record at 5:38 (am or/and pm). It could be yourself, actions, what is happening at that moment, you can record sound, use photos, videos, etc. Unlimited submissions are to be uploaded to this link: https://bit.ly/D15Rq

Documenta 15 already started, and we want to show the first wave of submissions by mid-July, and continue showing until September.

    OPEN CALL

We invite creatives to participate in the open call "Who are we? Transcendental self-portraits", which is part of the Mail Art in the XXI Century project promoted by Marcia Rosenberger.

The theme reflects current issues about imposed beauty standards and the actual aging characteristics of our bodies.

We live in a time when concern for appearance is pushing people to extreme limits, especially leveraged by social media. The obsession with selfies with the use of filters and manipulation of images is transforming people into narcissists, causing very negative emotional attitudes towards the way they see themselves.

While this overvaluation of physical appearance is at the top of priorities, the inner self is being set aside. Recognizing yourself is a process of self-knowledge, which raises healthy self-esteem. As well, recognizing ourselves in the other allows us to relate in society with more otherness.

When reviewing the advertising video Portraits of Real Beauty of a famous cosmetics industry aired ten years ago, just before the invasion of selfies, it is evident how essential it is to reinforce the acceptance of our own bodies and our inevitable aging. But for that, we need to really know each other.

So we challenge you to reflect on the questions "Who are we? Who am I?" and send us your work.

    CALL FOR MAIL ART SUBMISSIONS

Paper+ Post is an international open call for mail art with collage as the theme. Postcard

sized mail art will be presented in an exhibition at Boise State University titled, Paper +

Post. This exhibition will feature collage and mixed media works highlighting current

worldwide trends in collage. We are asking participants to respond to life during the

pandemic these past three years. We welcome participants to ponder the question,

“How has living with the pandemic for the past three years changed your life?” Upon

conclusion of the exhibition, artwork will be preserved in Boise State's Special

Collections and Archives at Albertsons Library. Paper + Post’s open call for collage-themed

mail art is being held in conjunction with World Collage Day, an annual,

    international celebration of collage.

World Collage Day, which will be held on May 13, 2023, is about artists connecting

across borders against a global context of entrenchment and separation. The day is

about an art medium that excels at bringing different things together to create new

forms and new ways of thinking. Ric Kasini Kadour, the editor of Kolaj Magazine, writes,

“We created World Collage Day because we wanted to honour this community of artists

and to remind the world what a spirit of cooperation, mutual support, and creativity can

    look like.”

A live meet-up event will be held on World Collage Day, Saturday, May 13th.

Participants from the community can explore and create their own works using collage

as the medium. Details of the event to follow.
