great photo, yr hand-made jack press is wonderful, what is a furniture slider and how is it used?
i have the use[friend has shop]of old30s-40s standard proofing press made in kalamazoo michigan.
it is small, bed is maybe 1ft wide by 4ft long. there is both metal&wood type with 2-3 drawers
of small dingbats. i have also printed with wood and lino-block. i am definitely not a "printer"
but enjoy the ink on paper process, happy printing! cb.
Thanks for the furniture slider idea for rubbing by hand. I'll use that!
Interesting — I'd never seen a Line-o-Scribe, was this the sort of thing used for showcards in department stores? It looks like a proof press but they don't usually have the typecases built in like that.
