Annick,

You'll also find people who likes mail art in Postcrodding, even if the majority prefers normal touristy postcards. Beware of Postcrossing: it's highly addictive! :D

Mail art is what it is. IUOMA is collective group for mail art. I feel postcrossing.net have the warmth of mail art because the commercial postcards. I often decorate envelopes out of habit to make the world more colourful place and give postal workers something different to look at.

I am very happy to join this group but as I am new on postcrossing I have a question.

If  I sent a handmade postcard without postcrossing ID and without registration, to someone of the postcrossing members what is the difference  with mail art (like mail art here on IUOMA)? THANK YOU.

I have a person who doesn't like self print postcards, I'll do my best to find one which matched their interest. This is pain, I'll save all handmade postcards for mailart all, I was thinking of turning the junk cards which comes with amazon packaging and turning to something wonderful.

I am a postcrossing member.  I try to respect the recipient's wishes as far as possible.  Until now no problems or disrespectful comments but I noticed that many postcrossers are no big fans of handmade cards which I regret of course.

I joined postcrossing too because used to be at postcardx, send and received postcard from all over the world. Only few of them are handmade. I find due to randomness of address I going to set some time to make handmade postcards some users don't like handmade. I'm still new on the site. You can use publishing sites like MOO to print out postcards from your own images. There's nothing wrong with handmade I feel there better quality and heartfelt feel.

Postcrossing is not only about commercial postcards. I read the instruction again and again, but preferences in the profile can be followed. It should not be demand, but some postcrossers sound very hard in their profile. Once a lady sent me a message to ask if I ever had problems with the receiver, since I sometimes send handmade postcards. She told me the receiver, a lady, refused to register the handmade postcard she sent.

I have sent recycled postcard to some postcrossers who said they didn't like handmade postcards. But I make my postcard (almost) identical to storebought postcards. Either they didn't noticed or prefer to just send me a nice message back:-)

Just joined postcrossing but I noticed most people there prefer actual viewcards or commercial postcards.  Would love to exchange with anyone from the group although I'm very new to this and still creating...

I have to say this: if I send you something, it will probably be something handmade!!  So, if anyone out there would love a really cool handmade card, please let me know and I will be more than happy to send one out to you!!!  Everyone so far just loves my cards.  They are fun, funky, inspiring, and come with a little something special tucked inside of them!!!
