P = is for Pandora's Pithos. And Bifidus immediately sets the stage for an archaeological adventure, an excavation of sorts. But first, on the cover, we must each sign a permit to begin:
This chapter P was beautifully blogged by D.V.Sloan, emphasizing the many-layered aspects of Bifidus' work, "layers upon layers of well-selected references and narrative". We see meter and feet scale to remind us of the archaeological aspect of this chapter and that archaeology is about documenting, measuring, cataloging. Bifidus offers us several grids, not too unlike those used by archaeologists to mark their excavations:
Fun and thought-provoking juxtapositions of words and phrases:hiccups, grammar, parking tickets...barbed wie (I know where that was first made, by Annie Glidden in DeKalb, Illinois, oh yes!)
...tight shoes...quick sand...the word cute
heart
less
ness
Pages of grid that makes us wonder about ...rhine stones...soap operas...eggnog...red tape and sleaze! To come full circle back to a map of Greece and the depiction of many ancient pithoi...Tags:
Hmmm, it seems that a few of the Chapters are slow-in-the-mail or got lost in the old snow storms.
Hope "P" arrives soon for you Susanna! I am still waiting for "M". It is out there somewhere!
