Call for Mail Art: "Corrispondenze (S)conosciute" (Unseen/Unknown Correspondences)

What happens when we entrust a thought, an image, or a fragment of ourselves to someone we have never met?

We invite you to participate in "Corrispondenze (S)conosciute", a Mail Art project born within "Il Nodo" Therapeutic Community in Monselice (Padua, Italy). Our goal is to bridge distances, break down prejudices, and build a connection made of art, words, and glances between the "inside" and the "outside."

The Theme

The theme of this call is "a message to someone I don’t know." It can be a wish, a reflection, an emotion, or a fragment of daily life. You are welcome to use any technique: collage, drawing, painting, photography, visual poetry, or textile art. The only requirement is that it fits within a 10x15 cm postcard format.

How the Dialogue Works

This is not a one-way journey. The most vibrant part of the project begins when your postcard arrives. For every artwork received, the residents of the community will not just be spectators: they will reply by creating a brand-new postcard, an original artwork born from the echo of your message. This will spark a true artistic and human exchange—a correspondence between strangers who choose to welcome each other.

The Final Exhibition

All the received postcards, along with the corresponding replies created by the residents, will be displayed in an exhibition open to the citizens of Monselice and anyone who wishes to share this experience with us, hosted right inside the community center. It will be a unique opportunity to see the artworks displayed "in pairs"—the prompt and the response—and to meet and connect beyond any label.

Exhibition dates: From December 19th, 2026, to January 19th, 2027.

How to Participate

Participation is free and open to everyone, anywhere in the world.

• Format and Details: Postcards must be 10x15 cm (approx. 4x6 inches) and must include the author's first name, last name, and address on the back.

• Mailing Instructions: Postcards must be sent by mail (either stamped directly on the postcard or inside a sealed envelope) by December 10th, 2026, to the following address:
