Bonjour Victoria! The call has only just gone out, so I would suggest that you wait a few more weeks/months and send them something about Easter. Regards, Val

It looks good Victoria! Are you going to send it to the Carnet exhibition? I'm sure that they would like it. Val

Yes, Katerina, any size, any type. For the Shoes/Chaussers Mail Art Exhibition they have at present...any size goes, and it's obvious that some exhibits have been hand delivered and not come through the post. The Mediatheque seems to be, er, pretty flexible, as to how it defines mail art.

Basically, I guess you can submit whatever you like as long it's more or less related to the theme.

My contribution is some old cigarette cards with steam transatlantic boats on them and 2 pages from a 1911 diary on which I wrote a short narrative. the whole thing was approx 20 X 15 cms, ie a big postcard;

Bestest, Val

It seems there is no limit to size or type of "travel journal"...so it could be a "journal" ( more than just one piece mail art), yes?

Yep! Montpellier is one of the biggest cities in the South of France. It has several branches, both in the city proper and in the surrounding 'agglomeration' (= administrative district.) For details see www.montpellier-agglo.com/mediatheques

A mediatheque is a pretentious French word for a library which has some computers in it.  I went to the one in Castries yesterday -- it is big, new, expensive and seems way out of proportion to the size of the villlage/suburb/small town that it's located in. But the French are very, very good at spending lots of money on culture and civic amenities (certainly compared to the UK, where the track record is absolutely abysmal). I'll send you more infor when, or if, I get it. I think 'if' might be the operative word, and suggest you work with what little info I've been able to provide so far. Regards, Val

Bonjour Theresa! Sorry, but that's basically all the info that the mediatheque/library put out. Usual conditions apply -- no returns, no porn, etc. If I can fin d out anything more I'll let folks know. regards, Val
