Event Description

mailart call from stripygoose...

I’ve just started a bird mailart 365 project, making bird mailart every day for a year. Every day a bird will appear on my iuoma page here http://iuoma-network.ning.com/profile/stripygoose and also here http://mailart365.blogspot.co.uk/. There will be a mass migration into the post next September.

Please send me your bird mailart anytime before August 31st 2014 and I’d be delighted to add it to the blog and to exhibit it sometime, somewhere. No returns.

Thank you in eager anticipation.

A peek into the mind of Valentine Herman - but I already knew he's a fan of flamingos... Thank you Val! : > )

'black tails and tie' from Amy Irwen - thank you Amy. That bird is surely going somewhere super-posh! I love the colours in the background - thank you so much for sending to me :>)

Great day when this came through my letter box - from Thom Courcelle. Can't say for sure what inspired him for this one but it is an iconic bird image. Plus bird stamps. Plus bird picture stickers and bird-word stickers - where did those come from. I can't wait to use them - thank you so much. Plus a poem - this was indeed a bonanza mail art arrival. What's the mailart etiquette for sharing poems - Thom, can I publish it here? I'm sure others would love to read it. Thank you, Thom.

Not one  but two Momkat cards - thank you so much for sening to me. I love them both. Poor euro ostrich with her head in the sand... and a startled chirping baby bird in its very own sandpaper nest. And even stamped 'blue bird mail art'. What a treat.

HI Amy - the blue bird has landed. What a super card. I really like the way you've done the sky and the bookish chest feathers. It looks a very contented bird, as was I when I received it - thank you.

Fanfare for the arrival of bird art number three from Mim. A classically philosophical ("Only the birds knew the answer or did they?") altered postcard which is number 251 from Mim's third 365 project. Thank you for sending to me. Your cards are always striking and much appreicated.

Here's more bird art and this is from Claudia. The text is quite dark (in terms of content) but the bird is surely the blue bird of happiness, quietly perched on that branch. Superb paint effects and what I can only call gouging to give texture. Wonderful. Thank you.

Thank you Mim - can't wait. Your 365 projects are forging ahead - still enjoying them?
