Event Description

This month I have been mailing out a new mail art series of postcards about the Transcontinental Arrows. These were the concrete arrows placed across the sparsely populated U.S. West in order to help guide early airmail flights.

More about the series on my blog.

This has made me think about the idea of creating more mail art that also tells some aspect of postal history. Does anyone else create mail art that tells some of his or her country’s postal history?  Or would you want to create a piece?

The mail art based on postal history I receive between now and July 31, 2015 will be cataloged and presented online.  It will also be included in one of our “show-n-tells” at an upcoming meeting of the Correspondence Coop in San Francisco.  Please note, this time I am looking for pieces about postal history and not mail art history (that will be another category altogether for a different time).

Send your piece to:

Tofu, I have blogged your postcard at the Postal Ledger and on facebook.  Lots of people have liked it! I did too.  Many thanks!
